Try this Thai

June 8, 2009

As a former Davis resident, I find a strange sense of pride as great new restaurants and shops continue to populate the downtown landscape. One of Davis’ newest additions caught my eye recently when a  friend described it as “Thai restaurant by day, club by night.” A nightclub in Davis? It can’t be so.

But it is! Perhaps more exciting than the fact that Ketmoree keeps Davis’ blood pumping into the late night hours with a stylish bar and DJ is the fact that the food there is really, really tasty! I first dined at Ketmoree for lunch over a month ago and have literally craved the Spicy Tome Kah (Coconut soup with mushroom, green onion, and cilantro) ever since.

My dining partner in crime (aka my Mom) also treated me to the 2K Thai Lettuce Wraps which were equally tasty with a light and refreshing profile.

Lastly, we feasted on the Yum Nua (Grilled beef tenderloin, red onion, green onion, cilantro pitched with a mild lime dressing). How could we not order something with “yum” in the name? It certainly lived up to our expectations.

Shh! Don’t tell anyone, but rumor has it that plans are in the works for a Ketmoree in Sacramento too! An insider told us that we’re still a good one or two years away from that, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime.

I highly recommend Ketmoree’s Mango Salad: it’s full of flavor with cilantro, coconut flakes and cashews. It should have “yum” in its name.

Brittany, these look absolutely delicious! Believe it or not, but I’ve never actually had the pleasure of trying thai food – there are no thai places near by and I don’t travel much …
Anyway, thank you for a great review, I’ll show it to my hubby. He likes to eat so much, I bet we’ll be on a plane to CA in no time ;)
