Grange Restaurant Unveils Exclusive Signature Batch of Bourbon
March 16, 2010
Sacramento’s own Grange Restaurant & Bar is giving area bourbon connoisseurs a reason to celebrate, having partnered with acclaimed Kentucky small-batch distillery Woodford Reserve to create its very own Grange Special Blend Woodford Reserve signature bourbon. Available for a limited time, this exclusive offering will be unveiled during a five-course Southern-inspired dinner on March 19.
To create the exclusive blend, Grange sous chef Brad Cecchi and head bartender Pete Tachibana traveled to Woodford Reserve’s Kentucky distillery in February and met with Master Distiller Chris Morris. Initially testing bourbons from eight 55-gallon barrels, the team sampled each on the basis of smell and flavor profiles. Eliminating four, they created six blends from the remaining barrels and selected what would become Grange Special Blend Woodford Reserve from amongst those blends.
Featuring a main course of bourbon-brined and smoked Riverdog Farm Pork with Anson Mills grits and pickled rhubarb, the five-course prix fixe dinner on March 19 will be offered for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity). For an additional $50, guests can order a personalized bottle of Grange Special Blend Woodford Reserve. For reservations please call 916-492-4450 or visit www.grangesacramento.com.
