My favorite fair food item is a toss up between deep fried oreos, and the chicken sandwich with a glazed donut for a bun.
Funnel Cake with strawberries, just tried the chocolate covered bacon… salty and delicious. Im looking forward to trying the snake on a stick.
Looking forward to trying the pyton or gator.
Fair Food: my guilty pleasure! I have to have a corndog with LOTS of mustard and also some of the fall-off-the-bone pork ribs! And BEER! Beer to wash both of ‘em down!
My favorite State Fair food has always been the Taco’s. They have been at the fair since the 50′s I believe. They are always something I look forward to.
This isn’t your typical “fair food” but there is a Southern BBQ place at the Fair that has the best greens! Not sure if they are collard greens or a mix, but they are SOOOOO good! I love greens, and these are delish! And they top them with some vinegar – Carolina-style. Yuuummmmm!!!
The deep fried Snickers bar is a surprising gem! The candy bar melts inside the dough, leaving a chocolate, caramel, peanut eclair-like dessert. So good.
Cinnamon Rolls. Hands down. I love that you can smell the cinnamon from a good distance and then, you go hunting for the source.
I also love the Cinnamon Rolls – hope I win, I just moved into the area and am so looking forward to attending the fair!

Thank you, Sac Foodies, for a fun day at the State Fair! We enjoyed everything we saw, especially the newborn baby goat and calf. It was a pretty mild day, but in the interest of keeping ourselves hydrated, we concentrated on the beverages that the Fair had to offer. The Save Mart Wine Country is a good place to visit. The blackberry merlot wine freeze that I found there was delicious as was Merlino’s orange freeze. Both were a great way to keep cool on a warm day! Thanks again for the tickets and passes!
My favorite food item hands down is the deep fried zuccini & if you can consider this item “food” the blackberry merlot slushie is the best.
