Get ready beer and chili lovers – the second annual Sacramento Beer & Chili Festival will be held on Saturday, April 6 at Fremont Park in Downtown Sacramento from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. This philanthropic event will consist of unlimited beer tastings provided by 35 local and regional brewers, live music by local musicians and a chili cook-off with four competitive categories: Individual, Industry, Vegetarian and People’s Choice.
Even more rewarding than an afternoon filled with refreshing beer, delicious chili, and great music is that the entire event will be enjoyed in the name of a wonderful charity. All proceeds will be donated to local art and music programs for Sacramento’s at-risk children and children of homeless families. Chili tasting tickets are $20 and include a 1-ounce chili tasting bowl (unlimited tastes). Chili and beer tasting tickets are $35 and include a 5-ounce beer tasting mug (unlimited tastes) and a 1-ounce chili tasting bowl (unlimited tastes). A valid ID must be shown for the beer tasting mug.
If you’re interested in putting your chili-cooking talents to the test, you may sign up as a contestant in the chili cook-off by filling out an entry form on the event website. Contestants may choose to enter the meat and/or vegetarian division as an individual or industry. Current industry competitors include: Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, River City Brewing Company, Broderick Roadhouse, Ruff House Hot Dog Company and last year’s chili winner, Golden Bear!
The Sacramento Beer & Chili Festival is a great testament to Sacramento’s philanthropic efforts and community involvement. It gives Sacramento residents the unique experience of enjoying local brews, chili and music while simultaneously giving back to the less fortunate in the community. The event is hosted by the Sacramento Artists Council, The Grid Agency and Dad’s Kitchen, all in support of raising funds for different art programs in the Sacramento area.
For great entertainment and delicious food and drinks all in the name of local charity – purchase your Sacramento Beer & Chili tickets today! Ticket prices increase by $5 on the day of the event.
