This August marks the 15th Annual Race for The Arts run, and the premier event, “Off to the Races,” is bound to be a charming celebration of art, wine and great eats from local restaurants. The “Off to the Races” event will take place on Saturday, August 17 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Pavilions on Fair Oaks Boulevard. Guests will be surrounded by the sounds of local musicians and the artwork of Sacramento artist Wayne Thiebaud.

As someone who has just moved to Sacramento I’m dying to try all of the great and unique food and wines Sac has to offer. Coming from a town that was a black hole void of good food anything will be a welcome bonus. If I had to choose Fabian’s Italian Bistro would be first on my list since I cannot recall the last good Italian food I had. Although as I said I’d be excited to try them all.

You had me at award-winning gelato…but as for restaurants, Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
