Want to dine and sip with the kings of the animal kingdom? Then get ready for Sacramento Zoo’s King of Feasts. The 11th annual event will be Saturday, June 23, at the Sacramento Zoo in Land Park.
Taking place from 6-9 p.m., attendees will be immersed in local food and beverages while browsing the lovely landscape of the zoo. This year, the event has a luau theme, so get your Hawaiian print and sandals ready.
Some local hot spots will feature delicious eats during the evening, including Red Rabbit Kitchen & Bar, Kru and Mulvaney’s B&L. Even local food trucks from Heavenly Dog Hot Dogs and Willie’s Burgers will be on hand to serve up some hot eats.
Plenty of local beverages will be available to quench even the thirstiest attendees; some breweries that might ring a bell are Lost Coast, Pyramid Alehouse and Hoppy Brewing Company. For the wine lover, enjoy vino courtesy of Carvalho Family Winery, Twisted Rivers Wine, Three Wine Company and Clarksburg Wine Co.
The fun and unique fundraiser will also feature silent auctions, ukulele players and Polynesian dancers.
Tickets benefit the Sacramento Zoological Society and are $45 for zoo members and $50 for non- members – click here to purchase. You can also get tickets at the door for $60. Click here to learn more about the event and see a full roster of food and beverage options.
Lucky for our readers, we are giving away a pair of tickets! Comment on this post by 3 p.m. on Thursday 6/21 and let us know which winery, brewery or restaurant you want to try most, and you will be entered to win!
Adults only strongly encouraged for event. Must be 21 and over to win tickets.

For me, it’s a tie between Red Rabbit and Mulvaney’s B&L. Both feature farm-to-table sensibility that should put Sacramento on the map; and I’ve not had the opportunity to try either.

I looked at the website and saw Vic’s is going to be there. Although we’ve been there a ton we always enjoy their lime rickey’s!

Vic’s! Maybe they will have some of their great ice cream out there to sample something different than I have had before!

PICK JUST ONE PLACE? OH SOO hard…Red Rabbit…wait I love them already and I know it. I keep hearing about Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen so I will say that!

I’d be excited to eat anything from Mulvaney’s, because I’m on a budget right now, and I can’t afford to eat there, and I’ve never been there.

I would love to try Red Rabbit or Mulvaney’s. Red Rabbit is the new kid in town and Mulvaney’s is that place on my list I just keep meaning to go to, but haven’t.
Bryan says
Looking forward to trying Kru!

ooh, that sounds fun! I am new to Sacramento and I’m a foodie and beergeek. I’m most excited about trying the Red Rabbit Kitchen and Bar.
