Attendees will enjoy a variety of Sacramento’s prized restaurants including, Blackbird Kitchen and Bar, Hook & Ladder Manufacturing, FatCat Scones, Zocalo, Magpie Caterers & Café, Vic’s Ice Cream and Red Rabbit Kitchen & Bar.
In addition, the mix of sipping options include: Hoppy Brewing Company, Clarksburg Wine Company, Lost Coast Brewery, Madrona Vineyards, River City Brewing Company, Ninkasi Brewing, Markstein Beverage Co. of Sacramento and Revolution Wines.
The evening will include Polynesian dancers, DJ’s, ukulele players and silent auctions. Plus, don’t forget to get in the spirit as luau attire is suggested!
Event proceeds benefit wildlife conservation, education programs and Zoo improvements. This is an adult’s only evening and tickets can be purchased in advance for $45 for Zoo members, $50 for non-members or $60 at the door. Visit www.saczoo.org or call 916-808-5888 to get your tickets.

It’s National Doughnut Day
It’s National Doughnut Day, so why not start Friday off right? From glazed and sprinkles to maple bars and old fashioned, and of course chocolate, there is a doughnut to appeal to every palate. Where is your favorite doughnut spot in Sacramento?
Wordless Wednesday: Jalapeño Skirt Salad from Paesanos
When the weather warms up, a refreshing salad and a nice patio can be quite appealing. Good thing Paesanos in Midtown has both and happens to be in my neighborhood. The Jalapeño Skirt Salad features soy-ginger skirt steak, mango, avocado, red onion and tomatoes, and is topped off with roasted jalapeño-lime dressing and gorgonzola cheese. Yum.
If it’s been a long week, I also recommend the house made sangria!
Enjoy.
