I’m pretty sure there is no better flavor combination than the majestic trio of garlic, basil and tomato. Now I’ve never self-identified as an Italian-loving foodie, but when you fill the kitchen with the potent scent of garlic, freshly chopped basil, and oh-so-juicy home-grown tomatoes I’ll be the first say, “DELIZIOSO!”
So, you better believe that, when making homemade pizza last week, I couldn’t resist piling on this tasty trifecta of ingredients…plus some fresh mozzarella and artichoke hearts for good measure. What resulted was the above masterpiece of flavor, each steamy mouthful packed with basil-tomato-garlicky goodness. Oh, and playing classy Italian music in the background definitely completed the experience!

TBD Fest Sacramento
This weekend, Sacramento will welcome the TBD Fest to town! Formerly known as Launch Festival, the three day event will feature art, design, music and farm-to-fork cuisine. While the festival boasts an awesome musical lineup this year (Blondie, Moby, and Justice, to name a few), we have to admit it’s the local food flavor that we are most excited about.
Featured this year are options from Sac staples including Mother, Tako, Lowbrau, and Blackbird Kitchen + Beer Gallery, as well as food truck favorites such as Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, Cruzin’ Crustacean and Wandering Boba. With a plate for any palate, TBD Fest is guaranteed foodie fun. The event runs Friday, Oct. 3rd- Sunday, Oct. 5th on Riverfront Street in West Sacramento’s Bridge District. Tickets are going fast and can be purchased
