If you’re feeling famished and daydreaming of a getaway to Newport Beach, Napa or even Paris, circle Oct. 14 on your calendar.
With a red marker. And, like, add a gold star.
Because at the 13th annual “A Taste of Sacramento” event, foodies far and wide will converge on all 51,000 square feet of convention center space for delicious local fare and healthy pours of award-winning brews and wine.
Benefitting Easter Seals Disability Services, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, the event attracts more than 90 local vendors and nearly 3,000 attendees in the mood for tastes from an array of local restaurants, breweries and wineries.
For wine, Silver Oak, Perry Creek and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly can top me off any time. And I’m willing to bet you’ll want seconds (and thirds) from the likes of Hawk’s Restaurant, Piatti and Crush 29, too.
The folks at Anderson Valley Brewing Company even hail from the small NorCal town of Boonville which—fun fact—has its own folk language called Boontling (bottles of Anderson Valley Brewing Company are labeled with the motto “It’s bahl hornin” or “It’s good drinking.”) So cheers to that.
Tickets are $35 through Oct. 13 and $50 the day of through the Sacramento Convention Center and Tickets.com.
Oh yeah, and about those trips.
The event’s silent auction features an array of travel packages. One even touts a five-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Paris Madeleine with a “culinary experience” at the famed Le Cordon Bleu Paris.
I believe “Abonnez-vous” means “Sign me up” in French.
Not sure how you say that in Boontling though.
