Beer fans, you’re in luck! The 4th Annual Sacramento Beer Week is kicking off next week and bringing with it not only some tasty events, but also a celebration of a rising Sacramento star—our craft beer scene.
Sacramento Beer Week will be taking place from February 22- March 3, with events happening all over town. The lineup includes tasting events and dinners at hot spots like Rubicon Brewing Company, Mulvaney’s B&L, Ten 22, and The Porch, tap takeovers with local favorites like Ruhstaller at Old Soul and even tastings at various Nugget Markets. The week culminates with the Capital Beerfest on Saturday, March 2 at Cal Expo at which attendees can sample from 100 breweries with proceeds benefiting the Runnin’ for Rhett foundation. Not only does Sacramento Beer Week signify the opportunity to taste many different brews, it is also a chance to celebrate our local beer culture. Sacramento has ten beer producers within the city, eight new breweries are scheduled to open this year and we are less than an hour away from 15 other breweries! We even have a new magazine in town, Hops to Table, which keeps readers in the know of the local craft beer scene. Sacramento’s passion for local, even in the beer space, gives us another notch on our proverbial belt as America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital.
Yesterday, fellow SacFoodie Sarah and I stopped by Pour House for their Beer Cocktails event to preview Sacramento Beer Week. We enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy some local brews and watch various bartenders from around town create their own custom cocktails using beer!
Sacramento Beer Week is sure to be a blast and we hope you get the chance to get out and enjoy some of the fun filled events! Cheers.
