Last time I visited Sonoma, we ventured outside of our usual Sunday brunch territory on the historic Sonoma Plaza and tried a new restaurant just a short distance down the road, Community Cafe. All I can say is the jaunt off the plaza was worth it!
I tried the Grilled Cheese Breakfast Sandwich which was served on sourdough bread with local cheddar cheese, bacon and a fried egg – with a side of sweet potato fries and chipotle ketchup! Honestly, it was so good that I would have a hard time ordering something different the next time I go back.
Unless, that is, it was the Sausage Biscuits & Gravy, which stole the show. Served with fried eggs and breakfast potatoes, I was stealing bites from this plate even more frequently than I usually do.
Next time you’re in Sonoma, I highly recommend checking out Community Cafe. I know I’ll be back – yum!
