As part of our job here at Fleishman-Hillard we wear many hats and recently, Kris Caputo Hurley and I put on our director/cue card holder hats to film a video series for our client the United States Potato Board (USPB). The USPB asked us to create a video series with the objective of educating consumers about the seven different types of potatoes. Can YOU name all seven types? (Answer is at the bottom of this post).
Part of the education included where to find potatoes, what you should be looking for and what to do if you can’t find a particular type. That meant finding a grocery store that would allow our film crew in and let us play with their potatoes. Lucky for us our friend/recipe developer/food stylist Patty Mastracco is also the Senior Food Editor for the Raley’s, Bel Air and Nob Hill magazine, Something Extra and was able to put us in touch with the right people to make this happen.
We arrived in the wee early hours on a Friday morning and were greeted by the Produce Manager John Phut. John was awesome. We knew that we would be treated well by the staff at Bel Air but did not know they were going to roll out the red carpet! We got the first-class treatment. Everything from ordering us extra potatoes – to letting us rearrange the displays – to bringing out extra props and stands. Our in-store video shoot was a success and we could not have done it without the help and generosity of the staff at Bel Air.
A BIG thank you to Produce Manager John Thut, Store Director Damon Moreno and our past FH intern turned Raley’s Communications Specialist, Ashley Zepernick!!

I believe the man you mention in the post is “John Thut” not John “Phut.”
