Tell us, what’s your favorite happy hour spot?
Harvest Sacramento Happy Hour at Grange
It’s Friday and there is no better way I can think to close out the week than with a good happy hour.
We’ve been fans of the custom cocktail creations at Grange for quite some time, as you see from our previous SacFoodies posts, here and here. But what makes their latest specialty happy hour unique is that it is benefiting a really great cause!
Harvest Sacramento is an initiative of Soil Born Farms and seeks to use underutilized produce to keep the produce from going to waste. All proceeds from the specialty cocktail creations will go to support this cause and the produce used in the drinks was picked by volunteers from Sacramento-area trees!
Best part of this happy hour special? The custom drinks will be featured at Grange for the remainder of March and all proceeds will continue to benefit Harvest Sacramento throughout the month.
Meyer Lemon Black Pepper, Almost Spring Sangria and Pomelo Punch (which serves two and is served out of a Sacramento-grown Pomelo) are the delicious drink options available to get you ready for the spring season here in Sacramento.
Stop by the Grange during the month of March Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. to try the Harvest Sacramento specialty cocktails and support the cause.
Cheers.

Mayahuel
Sometimes there is no better way to close out the week than with a good happy hour. My current favorite? Mayahuel.
On the corner of 12th and K in Downtown Sacramento, Mayahuel serves up some delicious eats and drinks during their Happy Hour, Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m.
Whether it’s beer, wine, mojitos or margaritas, Mayahuel has a wide selection of drinks on special. For my drink selection, although not on the happy hour menu, I chose the Asi Sabe Mexico – a cocktail made from fresh watermelon, lime, cucumber, and tequila with a Tajin chile rim. Every sip was completely refreshing and delicious.
The real star of the show was the Canao de Ceververde de camaron appetizer. This tasty selection includes two slices of cucumber topped with a mixture of salsa, fruit, chile, fresh cilantro and lime infused shrimp.
Take my word for it and add Mayahuel to your list of happy hour destinations!

SacFoodies Secret: Taqueria Maya’s, Sacramento
I live in Land Park, which means I have access to a bevy of Mexican food options on Broadway. Last year, Taqueria Maya’s took over a space which had previously been owned by a not-so-great Mexican restaurant, and I quickly learned that Maya’s has the hands-down best street tacos I’ve ever had outside of Mexico.
To top it off? They offer these tacos for just $1 each during Happy Hour, Monday-Thursday from 3-6 p.m. (Not to mention $2 draft beers during that same time.)
Los Jarritos (also on Broadway) may still be my No. 1 pick for a burrito, but the tacos (and the prices) at Maya’s simply cannot be beat.
