Here are a couple of dog-friendly restaurants in Midtown that are offering special discounts (and maybe even a dog biscuit or two!) to those who dine with their dog today:

“Outstanding in the Field” Event Tickets On Sale Now
The “roving culinary adventure” returns to Northern California in June when local CSA Farm Fresh to You and Grange Restaurant & Bar team up for the second year to host an Outstanding in the Field dinner event at Capay Organic Farm in Capay, CA. (We hear last year’s event sold out in 72 hours!)
With tickets to the event selling for $190 per person, we couldn’t wait to find out what this culinary evening would entail. So what does a ticket get you?
The dinner starts with a reception with wine and passed appetizers followed by a four-course, seated meal with wine pairings. Guests are seated at a long table for the meal composed by Grange’s executive chef Oliver Ridgeway in Outstanding in the Field’s nomadic al fresco kitchen. Dinner is served family style (or farm style). During the meal, brothers Noah Barnes and Thaddeus and Freeman Barsotti of Farm Fresh to You, who provided ingredients for the menu, talk about their respective crafts and diners are encouraged to ask questions. The dinner event also includes a farm tour hosted by the brothers.
To us, this sounds more like an ultimate dining experience than a mere meal, and with Sacramento’s new Farm-to-Fork Capital designation, it’s an event we’re glad has returned to NorCal.
What: Outstanding in the Field
Where: Capay Organic Farm, 23804 State Highway 16, Capay, CA 95607
When: Saturday, June 22 starting at 4 p.m.
Cost: $190/ticket

Orphan Breakfast House
Some mornings just call for a sit-down, ignore-the-world, enjoy-yourself kind of breakfast. When those mornings call, Orphan Breakfast House answers.
From fresh daily specials using seasonal ingredients like the Meyer Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes (three Meyer lemon poppyseed pancakes baked with fresh raspberries and surrounded by house-made Meyer lemon curd) to menu standbys like the Papas Loco (rosemary potatoes grilled with jalapenos and scallions, topped with black beans, jack cheese, fresh salsa, sour cream, avocado, cilantro and Roma tomatoes), Orphan doesn’t disappoint.
Plus, they serve juices, smoothies and freshly brewed Naked Coffees (come warmer weather, I highly recommend the iced coffee).
Of course, everyone has a favorite breakfast spot in town. What’s yours?
