FREE BREAKFAST AND COFFEE FRIDAY AT MAYAHUEL
Weekday breakfasts may be one of my most favorite things. Saturdays and Sundays pack them in and you always face an impending wait. But on a weekday, when I should be at work and there are less people dining out, it seems as if going out to breakfast is more of a treat.
Now what’s a bigger treat than a free breakfast … and on a weekday no less? Well that’s what is happening this Friday, March 7 in Downtown Sacramento. Mayahuel on K Street is introducing its new breakfast menu by giving away free breakfast tacos and burritos as well as cups of delicious Pacha Coffee. Here’s the skinny:

Farm-to-Fork Week coming soon and SacMag’s New e-Newsletter Has All the Scoop
We were excited when Mayor Kevin Johnson officially proclaimed Sacramento America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital last year, and we just learned the city is hosting Farm-to-Fork Week in late September that I’m sure we’ll be blogging about more as details unfold. One aspect that we’re really excited about is that the week will conclude with a festival September 28 on Capitol Mall, which just happens to be where the SacFoodies hold up shop Monday – Friday. Nice! Leading up to the big event, Sacramento Magazine food writer Kira O’Donnell will be blogging twice a week about how local farmers, growers, restaurateurs and others are preparing for the big event. We can’t wait to learn more. If you are as curious as us, sign up for SacMag’s Farm-to-Fork e-newsletter here.
BOGO Clam Chowder Today Only at Boudin Bakery
Today is National Clam Chowder Day, and to celebrate, Boudin Bakery is running a buy-one-get-one special for its classic clam chowder in a bread bowl.
A little piece of trivia: Boudin is the creator of the Original San Francisco Sourdough and sells more than one million of its renowned clam chowder in a bread bowl per year. That’s a lot of chowder!
To receive a free clam chowder in a bread bowl, diners must visit Boudin Bakery’s website at www.BoudinBakery.com and print the National Clam Chowder Day voucher. The voucher can be presented at any “Boudin SF” or “Boudin Bakery Café” for a free clam chowder in a bread bowl with the purchase of one at regular menu price. The voucher is valid only today, February 25.
Sacramento’s closest Boudin Bakery is located at Loehmann’s Plaza and if you are in Roseville, there is a Boudin Bakery at the Fountains. Both are open today until 9 p.m.
