Annual SacFoodies Potluck: What should the SacFoodies drink?
The SacFoodies are celebrating our 6th anniversary next week! Our theme for our annual potluck this year is “America’s Farm to Fork Capital,” so of course we’ll be toasting with a local brew. The dilemma? Too many great local beers to choose from! Help us decide which beer keg to enjoy for our special occasion by leaving a comment below and letting us know your favorite local brew. Cheers!

Interested in slowing it down this Labor Day weekend? How about kicking things off with a crawl… the Gold Rush Beer Crawl that is. Davis Bike and Brew Fest
I grew up in Davis, the bicycle capitol of the United States, so naturally it doesn’t faze me that the town would have a community-wide celebration to raise funds for the United States Bicycle Hall of Fame (located in Davis, of course). But when I heard that they were having a Bike and Brew Fest, as part of a larger Davis Beer Week to raise money for the Bicycle Hall of Fame, I was definitely surprised.
Knowing how fun a Davis festival can be from my childhood memories, I definitely will not be missing this exciting benefit. This Saturday, August 24 from 3:30 to 8:00 pm in Davis’s Central Park I invite you to “hop” on over to the bicycling capitol of the United States with me to take part in this exciting, one-of-a-kind event and taste beer for a good cause.
The evening festivities will include live music from three different bands, local food, children’s’ activities, beer from 50 breweries and wine from 10 wineries! Whether you are looking to taste the various craft libations, be a designated driver or take part in the entertainment, there is something for everyone at this one-of-a-kind event.
Tickets include access to the park and entertainment as well as a glass of beer and one complementary wine tasting. Ride your bike, or have a designated driver take you over to Davis and see what my hometown has to offer. Buy your tickets here today.
