Seasonal Sippers from Café Bernardo
When it comes to holiday beverages of the non-alcoholic variety, one might automatically think of a Pumpkin Spiced Latte or a Peppermint Mocha. However, thanks to the folks at Café Bernardo, you can broaden your holiday pick-me-up horizons and try two of their new seasonal creations available at all five of their locations throughout the month of December. Happy sipping!
The Eggnog Latte is made with eggnog that is prepared daily, using local ingredients at the Paragary Bakery. Then, the latte is made at the cafes using local Clover Milk and Vaneli’s Espresso.
Using local Barsotti apple juice and housemade chai tea, the Apple Chai Tea is a flavor combination not to be missed.

Goose Island Migration Week
Chicago’s Goose Island Beer Co. is ending its Migration Week in sunny Sacramento County! Migration Week is a 32-city tour that began in Miami in March and has finally made its way west for the winter. It includes a series of tap takeovers, brewer meet-and-greets and beer education events that are open to the public. Tonight is the second-to-last event, followed by the grand finale on Friday.
Many of the beers they’ll bring will be introduced to Sacramento for the first time. They’ll also share one of their most popular beers, Bourbon County Brand Stout, which is only released once a year and tastes like an “intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke.”
Migration Invasion: Industry Night
“We’re taking over the taps to bring you an exclusive first taste of some of our best brews. We invite home brewers to come and talk beer with us as we end an eight-month trek visiting great craft towns around the US.”

Centro Turns Twenty
Centro Cocina Mexicana, a Sacramento staple, turns 20 this week and the restaurant is celebrating with a week of specials. Starting today and continuing through Sunday, August 17th, Centro will feature a commemorative anniversary menu and table-side guacamole preparation.
In addition to satisfying your appetite, no birthday celebration would be complete without some special drinks. Centro will feature $6 Anniversary Infusion Margaritas and $5 Centro Margaritas—which just so happened to be the price in 1994. You can also catch former Centro bartenders who will be returning on Tuesday and Wednesday to celebrate.
Born out of the desire to bring a new kind of Mexican cuisine to Sacramento, PRG Executive Chef Kurt Spataro and partner Randy Paragary opened Centro after an extensive culinary tour of Mexico. The Midtown restaurant, located on the corner of 28th and J Street, is known for its moles made from scratch, fresh corn tortillas, festive atmosphere, and fabulous Tequila infusions.
If you’ve never had the chance to make it to Centro, or if you’re due for a visit, be sure to swing by this week and wish them a Happy Birthday!

26th Annual Winter Wine & Food Fest
Looking for some good food, and a good cause? We’ve found an event that delivers both – the 26th Annual Winter Wine & Food Fest. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish® Northeastern California and Northern Nevada, granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in an effort to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Last year’s event raised $400,000 in one night, funding 80 children’s wishes. Each wish is a life-affirming testament to hope, inspiration and resilience, impacting the wish of a child, their family, and many times an entire community.
This premier food and wine event will feature more than 120 premium wineries and breweries, including the renowned Wente, Frank Family, Borjon Winery, Boeger Winery, and Renwood. You can also enjoy tasty bites from exclusive restaurants such as Paul Martin Bistro, Ambrosia, Frank Fats, Il Fornio, and Matteo’s.
There are two ways to experience the Winter Wine & Food Fest. General admission guests will enjoy live entertainment as well as a silent auction. VIP guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and witness a live wish reveal to an unsuspecting 9 year-old girl with brain cancer.
