Favorite Food: I can’t choose one, so I’ll choose two: beans and peas. Don’t worry—not together! I eat beans almost every day for lunch, because I’m lazy, and because they’re delicious. I like to mix them up with different toppings like sriracha, avocado, shredded cheese, pico de gallo or sour cream. I also have a soft spot for peas, whether they’re served alone, on a salad or in pasta. #LegumeLife

Earliest food-related memory from childhood: My earliest memory was crawling up the kitchen counter and stealing a finger-full of butter on an ongoing basis. Eventually, my parents caught on and kept the butter on lock down!

Favorite Local Restaurant: Ah, this is a tough one! I dine out and order Postmates far too often. Here are a few of my faves:

  • Pizza: Hot Italian
  • Sushi: Lou’s Sushi or Kru Contemporary Japanese Cuisine
  • Cheese: The Rind
  • Thai: The Coconut Midtown or Thai Basil
  • Mexican: Taqueria Jalisco and Taqueria Maya’s (best breakfast burrito)

Favorite family recipe: It’s not actually a family recipe, but a recipe from my mom’s good friend. We call it “Meagan’s Dip.” It has black-eyed peas, tomatoes, onions, avocado, corn and lots of spices. This stuff disappears real quickly at any family gathering.
