Congratulations to Patty Blomberg for winning two tickets to The El Dorado Winery Association’s 19th Annual Passport Weekend! Patty’s favorite warm-weather food and wine pairing entry was:
“Best warm weather pairing – no doubt – apples & pears from Apple Hill , 2005 Signature Zin from ParaVi, choice of cheese to pair with fruit, fresh baked rustic bread from area bakeries and a best friend to enjoy the beauty of the area, the food and of course the wine. This is paradise close to our home base in Sacramento.”
Not the lucky winner, but still want to attend this fabulous event? There’s still time to buy your tickets! Simply visit www.EldoradoWines.org or call 800-306-3956 for more details.

National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day!
Ah, the camera phone. Oh-so-very convenient, yet never seems to do a dish justice. Such is the case with this photo of Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream. Yes, I said it, and such a thing does exist. I took this photo a few months back while dining at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop in Orlando. The pastry chef that made this dish especially for our table was the sweetest woman. While her name escapes me now, she was the first person I thought of when I learned that today – April 2 – is National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day!
Beyond the famed sandwich, what are your favorite PB&J creations?
